What Is a Biometric Access Control System?
A biometric access control system uses biometric identity verification. It reads a trait unique to each person, converts it into an encrypted template and compares it with enrolled users. On a match, it opens the door or gate and logs the event. Cards and PINs can be shared or stolen, but a face or palm cannot.
Face Recognition
The fastest hands-free method. People walk up and pass while infrared liveness checks confirm a real person.
Palm Vein and Iris
Uses internal or highly detailed patterns that can't be copied from a surface. Suited to high-security rooms and to sites where faces are partly covered by helmets or masks.
Fingerprint and Hybrid
A familiar, low-cost backup. Pairing it with face adds two-factor security at sensitive doors.
